Mr. Aslam Shaikh, Judicial Member II, Sindh Human Rights Commission, attended a productive consultative session on “Anti-Slavery: ending bonded labour” organized by Sindh Human Rights Defenders (SHRDN) at Indus Hotel, Hyderabad as a chief Guest.

The objective of the conference is to raise awareness about bonded labor and to discuss strategies and solutions for ending this form of modern slavery. It aims to bring together experts, activists, policymakers, and stakeholders to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and develop effective strategies to eradicate bonded labor in the Sindh region and beyond.

Mr. Aslam Shaikh, Judicial Member II, Sindh Human Rights Commission emphasize that The Sindh Minimum Wages Act, 2015 along-with Labour Laws should be implemented ensuring it is aligned with international human rights standards. This should include provisions for identifying and prosecuting perpetrators, providing protection and support for victims, and implementing effective remedies.
