Chairperson & Member SHRC visited the Women’s Jail in Hyderabad

More measures should be taken to address the health issues faced by the women inmates.

The Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, and Judicial Member-I SHRC Justice (F) Arshad Noor Khan, recently visited the Women’s Jail in Hyderabad, and here are the findings.

During their inspection, they found that the early learning center at the jail was in good condition. However, the Chairperson of the SHRC suggested that elder children should be enrolled in a nearby school with the help of the District Education Officer to ensure their education is not disrupted.

Furthermore, there was only one female doctor serving in the prison. The Chairperson recommended more measures to address the health issues faced by the inmates.

The SHRC's active involvement in the welfare of prisoners is commendable, and we're excited to see more improvements in the future. This visit highlights the importance of ensuring that women in prison have access to education and healthcare. Let's continue to support their cause!
