Objective

Charter of United Nations defines Human Rights as:


"Human Rights are universal legal guarantees protecting individuals and groups against actions which interfere with fundamental freedoms and Human dignity."


It was due to alarming increase in violation of Human Rights that the Directorate of Human Rights was established by the Sindh Government in the year of 2008.


In the year 2011 the Sindh Government passed the Sindh Protection of Human Rights Act 2011, which was Notified on 30.4.2013. Section 3 (1) of the Act envisioned the establishment of the Sindh Human Rights Commission which was Notified on 9th May 2013.

 

 

Vision

The Vision of the Commission is:


“To create an enabling environment where human rights are promoted and protected in Sindh through monitoring and oversight.”

 

 

Mission

The Mission of the Commission is:


“To promote and protect human rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 and other international obligations and commitments as a state party.”
