Mr. Mir Zulfiqar Ali, Executive Director of the Workers Education and Research Organization-WERO, led a delegation to the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) office for a crucial meeting with Chairperson Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho. The purpose of the meeting was to address the pressing issues faced by the Lady Health Workers (LHWs).

During the productive session, Mr. Ali and his team engaged in a comprehensive discussion with Mr. Detho, highlighting the challenges and concerns faced by the LHWs in fulfilling their vital role in the healthcare sector. The discussion revolved around improving the working conditions and securing essential rights for the LHWs.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mir Zulifqar Ali expressed gratitude to Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho and the Sindh Human Rights Commission for their willingness to engage in a dialogue and address the concerns of the LHWs.

In response, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, acknowledged the valuable insights shared by Mr. Ali and his team. He assured them of the Commission's commitment to promoting and protecting human rights, including those of the LHWs, and pledged to explore viable solutions to address the issues raised during the meeting.

WERO and the Sindh Human Rights Commission agreed to collaborate further in developing initiatives that would improve the working conditions, training opportunities, and overall well-being of the LHWs. Both parties expressed optimism about the positive outcomes that can be achieved through a concerted effort between WERO and the Sindh Human rights commission.
