Chairperson (SHRC) conducted a visit to Shikarpur District Jail

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, the Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, conducted a visit to #Shikarpur District Jail on August 14th, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Zeeshan Arshad. The purpose of this visit was to assess the conditions within the jail premises and ensure the proper protection of inmates' human rights.

During his visit, Mr. Detho engaged with incarcerated individuals, actively listening to their concerns and grievances. He attentively absorbed the narratives of those detained and took note of their expressed concerns.

The primary objective of the visit was to evaluate the jail's environment, with a dedicated emphasis on preserving fundamental human rights for the inmates. This visit effectively highlighted the steadfast commitment of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, under Mr. Detho's leadership, to advocate for and safeguard human rights throughout the province of Sindh.

Looking ahead, the Commission remains resolute in its pursuit of establishing an impartial and just society that upholds the dignity and rights of all individuals. Through continuous efforts, it strives to cultivate an environment where human rights are upheld, respected, and protected.

During the visit, Mr. Iqbal Detho distributed sweets among the inmates.

Following the visit, Chairman Iqbal Ahmed Detho expressed satisfaction, affirming that all facilities and arrangements within the jail were deemed satisfactory.
