Muhammad Aslam Shaikh, Member Judicial-II of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, visited Central Jail MirpurKhas, accompanied by the Pakistan Legal United Society & Legal Aid Office (Committee for the Welfare of Prisoners) teams. The purpose of this visit was to ensure the protection of inmates' rights and their overall well-being. It encompassed assessments of various aspects, including living conditions, prisoner treatment, adherence to human rights standards, and the provision of legal aid to incarcerated individuals.

The team examined the food quality to verify that it met the essential nutritional standards necessary for the inmates' well-being.

They conducted an inspection of the availability of basic medical care within the facility, which included clinics, medical staff, and access to necessary medications. This was done to ensure that prisoners received adequate medical attention and that their health needs were being met.

They also emphasized the importance of indoor activities within the jail to provide prisoners with constructive ways to utilize their time and maintain their well-being. These activities included educational programs, access to libraries, art and creative workshops, counseling, therapy services, and skill-building workshops.
