Justice (R) Arshad Noor Khan, Judicial Member-I (SHRC), paid a visit to the Youthful Offenders Industrial School and Correctional Facility in Karachi

Justice (Retired) Arshad Noor Khan, Judicial Member-I of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, paid a visit to the Youthful Offenders Industrial School and Correctional Facility in Karachi. The visit included the participation of Barrister Rida Tahir, Zaheer Hussain, and Talha Shah, as well as representatives from the Legal Aid Office (Committee for the Welfare of Prisoners) and Pakistan Legal United Society.

The primary objective of this visit was to assess the quality of educational, medical, and other facilities managed by the institution. During the visit, Superintendent Abdul Karim Abbasi provided information that the facility houses 350 children, and they receive vocational training, engage in educational activities, participate in sports, learn bike mechanics, explore art and music, attend seminary sessions, and enjoy various other amenities.

Subsequently, an in-depth inspection was carried out across all sections of the facility, with a focus on enhancing the quality of food, ensuring prompt medical attention for children affected by eye infections, and facilitating legal support for eligible children.

بروز بدھ۔سندھ ہیومن رائٹس کمیشن کے جوڈیشل میمبر جسٹس ریٹائرڈ ارشد نور خان کا یوتھ فل افینڈر انڈسٹریل اسکول اینڈ کریکشنل فیسلٹی کراچی کا دورہ۔

بیریسٹر ردا طاہر، ظہیر حسین اور طلحہ شاہ کے علاؤہ لیگل ایڈ سوسائٹی اور پاکستان لیگل یونائیٹڈ سوسائٹی کے میمبران بھی جوڈیشل میمبر کے ہمراہ دورے میں شامل تھے۔

دورے کا مقصد وہاں موجود بچوں کے انتظامیہ کی جانب سے فراہم کردہ تعلیمی، طبی اور دیگر سہولیات اور مینیجمینٹ کا جائزہ لینا تھا۔

سپریڈنٹ عبد الکریم عباسی نے بریفنگ دی کہ 350 بچے یہاں رکھے گئے ہیں جن کے لئے ووکیشنل ٹریننگ، تعلیمی سرگرمیاں، کھیلوں کے علاوہ بائیک مکینک، آرٹ، میوزک، مدرسہ و دیگر سہولیاتفراہم کی جا رہی ہیں۔

بعد ازاں تمام سیکشنز کا تفصیلی دورہ کرکے فراہم کی گئی سہولیات کا جائزہ لیا گیا، موقعہ کھانے کی کوالٹی کو بہتر کرنے، آنکھوں کے وائرس سے متاثرہ بچوں کو فوری طور پر طبی امداد دینے اور مستحق بچوں کے لئے قانونی امداد کی فراہمی کی ہدایات جاری کی گئی ۔
