Sindh Women Lawyers Alliance (SWLA) conducted one day provincial dialogue held on 30th September, 2023 in Arts Council Karachi with Human Rights activists, Civil Society and Lawyers regarding murder case of Ms. Fatima Furiro of Ranipur, Khairpur, and informed participants about progress in case, challenges, barriers and threats facing by the complainant party and the HR activists, press personnel & others.
Mr. M. Aslam Shaikh, Member Judicial-II, of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, informed the house about SHRC prompt action taken by way of Suo-Motu notice and called for a detailed report from the SSP Khairpur. Examined police papers and pointed out lacunas in it, conducted Provisional enquiry by record of statements of witnesses, conducted meeting with SSP and took briefing of case.
The SHRC under its mandate provided safety to the complainant party and calls status of case and submissions of all reports and final challan of case before the competent court of law for adjudication, the other participants took part in dialogue.
