Sindh Human Rights Commission took a proactive step by organizing an intensive two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) program

During the 16 Days of Activism, the Sindh Human Rights Commission concluded a groundbreaking two-day training program for police instructors. This initiative, commended for its proactive approach, aimed at enhancing awareness of human rights laws and emphasized SHRC's commitment to fostering a rights-based society.

Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of SHRC, highlighted the program's significance in empowering law enforcement with a profound understanding of human rights laws. "This embodies our commitment to justice and safeguarding individual rights," he emphasized.

Covering crucial aspects like the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act 2013 and recent amendments, the training provided updated insights into Human Rights and Violence against Women and Children Laws.

Barrister Rida Tahir, Consultant at SHRC, emphasized the importance of this training, stating, "Our goal is to ensure Police Instructors possess a nuanced understanding of legal frameworks related to human rights, enabling them to protect all individuals."

The sessions included discussions on key laws like the Anti-Rape Act, strategies against child trafficking, and insights from M. Aslam Shaikh (R) Judge, Member (SHRC) and Barrister Zahrah S. Vayani.

Faizullah Korejo, DIG Trainings Sindh Police, praised SHRC's leadership in these essential initiatives. Pir Mohammad Shah, the DIG establishment and Abdul Salam Shaikh, Director of F.I.A. were present, with the latter gracing the training as the chief guest and distributing certificates to participants.

When police instructors are well-versed in human rights laws, they become agents of positive change, upholding the rights and dignity of every individual. SHRC remains committed to fostering a society where justice prevails.
