Mr. M. Aslam Shaikh, Judicial Member-II of Sindh Human Rights Commission took a significant step towards promoting inclusivity and ensuring the rights of the Trans Community.

Representing SHRC at a crucial meeting on 29th November, 2023, with the Provincial Election Commissioner, he addressed the challenges faced by the community in obtaining CNICs.

Mr. Sheikh shared the proactive efforts of SHRC, having already sent a letter to NADRA advocating for the issuance of CNICs to the transgender community. The response from NADRA has been positive, with the Director affirming a commitment to resolving all CNIC-related matters in accordance with the law.
