The Sindh Human Rights Commission, in collaboration with the Training Branch of the Sindh Police, organized a two-day training program for Police Inspectors in Law and Investigation. This initiative aimed to elevate awareness of human rights laws, emphasizing the SHRC's dedication to nurturing a rights-oriented society. Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, Chairperson of SHRC, highlighted the program's significance in empowering law enforcement with a deep understanding of human rights laws and the embodiment of justice and protection of individual rights.

Covering vital topics like the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act 2013 and its Rules, the training provided up-to-date insights into Human Rights and Violence against Women and Children Laws, marking a pivotal step towards realizing equality and justice for all.

Barrister Rida Tahir, Sindh Human Rights Commission Consultant, stressed the need for a nuanced understanding of human rights laws. With a focus on vital legislation like the Sindh Domestic Violence (Prevention & Protection) Act 2013 and The Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, and its Amendment in 2022, the goal is to ensure Police Inspectors possess the knowledge to protect all individuals.

During the training session, participants gained insights from M. Shahid Shafiq, District & Session Judge / Senior Faculty Member at Sindh Judicial Academy, covering key laws like The Sindh Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 2015, and its Rules 2020, as well as the Juvenile Justice System Act, 2018.

On the second day, Barrister Aashir Masood Mahar delved into topics within the Pakistan Penal Code, including discussions on Criminal homicide and provisions concerning Qatl-i-amd, cruelty to children, among others.

Barrister Ali Tahir delivered a lecture on THE TORTURE AND CUSTODIAL DEATH (PREVENTION AND PUNISHMENT) ACT 2022, empowering participants with knowledge and understanding to uphold justice and prevent such atrocities. This comprehensive training deepens Police Inspectors' understanding and commitment to serving the community.
