Ministry of Human Rights organized a key Provincial Consultation on the ððšðð¢ð¨ð§ðšð¥ ð’ðð«ðšððžð ð² ðŸð¨ð« ðŒðšð¥ðž ðˆð§ð¯ð¨ð¥ð¯ðžð¦ðžð§ð ðð¨ ð€ððð«ðžð¬ð¬ ð†ðžð§ððžð«-ððšð¬ðžð ð•ð¢ð¨ð¥ðžð§ðœðž (ð†ðð•) was held at the Marriott Hotel, Karachi. The event gathered experts, policymakers, and advocates to discuss solutions for combating GBV and protecting women's and children's rights.
The Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho, shared key insights during the consultation. He emphasized the need to understand the cultural and religious dynamics of GBV, stating, "Religion is part of culture; we have to understand its dynamics." He called for a unified national policy on women's rights, noting, "Policies and women's rights vary across provinces." Despite resource constraints, he affirmed, "With limited resources, we are doing our best to address these critical issues."
He concluded by stressing that "Protecting women's and children's rights is a fundamental priority" for the Commission.
This consultation reinforced the importance of collaboration and strong policy-making to combat GBV.
