The Chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho attended a key meeting chaired by Mr. Abdul Khalique Shaikh, Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights, Government of Pakistan, to discuss critical issues related to international human rights reporting and compliance. The agenda also focused on the upcoming GSP+ review and progress in strengthening Pakistan’s legislative framework for human rights.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Khalid Chachar, Secretary, Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, along with representatives from various line departments of the Sindh Government.
During the meeting, the Chairperson SHRC highlighted the Commission’s legislative and policy contributions, particularly in the areas of Forced Conversions, Child Domestic Labor, Hate Speech, and Human Rights Education.
