SHRC Highlights Child Protection Success and Nutrition Efforts at District South Meeting

While speaking at the meeting on Child Protection and Nutrition organized by the District South Human Rights Committee, Ms. Fareeda Tahir, Public Relations Officer of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) highlighted the success story of baby Ayesha as part of SHRC’s continued efforts in promoting child protection.

She also informed the audience that SHRC Chairperson Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Detho had recently visited young Fayaz, a child injured in a drone attack in Shikarpur, who is currently receiving treatment at Ziauddin Hospital in Sukkur. During the visit, Mr. Detho met with the Deputy Commissioner of Shikarpur and other relevant provincial authorities to ensure the provision of appropriate medical care and support for the child.

Additionally, Ms. Tahir shared that the SHRC actively participated in a nutrition-focused event hosted by a local NGO. During the event, the Commission emphasized the vital role of civil society in promoting nutrition initiatives and reaffirmed its commitment to recognizing health and nutrition as fundamental human rights—ensuring equitable access to adequate food, maternal care, and essential health services for all.
